Douglas County Commissioners asked Carson City Health and Humans Services (CCHHS) to provide public health services to the residents of Douglas County. CCHHS opened Douglas County Community Health in a newly refurbished office on January 17, 2012.
Douglas County Community Health provides services that are mandated by state law and funded by tax dollars, as well as state and federal grants. Clinic staff includes an Advance Practice Nurse with physician back-up, registered nurses and other clinical staff.

Communicable Disease Prevention and Treatment
Family Planning / Birth Control
STD and HIV Prevention Education and Counseling - Testing and Treatment
Women's Cancer Screening Program - Annual well women exams, pap smear, breast exam, and mammogram referrals.
