Young at Heart (YAH)

Young at Heart (YAH) is a nonprofit organization created to empower and provide senior leadership with community service projects, bingo, fundraising efforts, garden clubs and outreach long term senior assistance.

YAH is the fundraising arm of the Douglas County Senior Center. It is a dedicated group who raise and donate funds here at the Senior Center. The proceeds raised by YAH are used by the YAH Board for many things.

In 2014 YAH paid out over $200,000 to various Senior Center causes including: 90+ Birthday Meals, Mother’s Day Flowers, Father’s Day Treats, Kitchen equipment for the New Community and Senior Center and so much more! Each year the Senior Center and Kitchen give YAH a “wish list” of items that are not covered by the budget and each year YAH tries to fulfill those wishes.
