The Douglas County Public Library is participating in the In-N-Out Burger® Cover to Cover Reading Program starting March 4 and continuing through April 15.
Children ages four to twelve are eligible to earn a certificate for a free cheeseburger or hamburger for every five books they read. Each child may earn up to three certificates.
Sign up for the program at the Minden or Zephyr Cove Library to receive a reading log.

Be part of the story! The Minden Library is having a Children’s Book Walk in honor of National Library Week. The book walk is a self-paced activity and will be available during regular library hours from April 10 to April 15. The Youth Services desk is the starting point for the book walk.
Each page of a featured story will be displayed throughout the children’s section of the library. Children will follow the story and explore different objects from each page.
The Children’s Book Walk is sponsored by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library.

A READing Paws therapy dog will be available at the Douglas County Public Library every Thursday between 3:00 and 5:00. Reading with animals can help children feel calm, gain confidence, and become strong readers.
Children of all ages and reading levels are invited to read with a registered therapy dog and the dog’s handler. Each child will spend 15 minutes with a dog. Time slots are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Parental permission is required, and permission forms are available at the library. This program is offered in partnership with READing Paws, a local affiliate of Intermountain Therapy Animals.
