  1. Summer Reading Program 2017 ~ Build a Better World

    June 1, 2017, 10:00 AM - July 31, 2017, 7:00 PM @ Minden Library and Zephyr Cove Library

    All children and teens are invited to participate in the 2017 Summer Reading Program. “Build a Better World” is this year’s theme with a children’s program for ages 0 to 11 and a teens’ program for ages 12 to 17.

    The program runs from June 1 to July 31 at the Minden and Zephyr Cove branches. Children and teens who participate will earn prizes while they maintain and build their reading skills during summer break.

    The online registration form can be filled out and printed from home through the library website, douglas.lib.nv.us, or at either branch.

  2. Adult Summer Reading Program

    Why should the kids get all the summer reading fun? The Douglas County Public Library is providing a Summer Reading Program for adults this July! Adults ages 18 and older may register at the Minden Library or the Zephyr Cove Library.

    Participants will get the opportunity to share their opinions on the books they read. There will be door prizes for every book or audio book completed, and participants will be entered in weekly drawings for more prizes and for a chance to win the grand prize, a Samsung tablet.

    Programs include a mug cake baking class and Bad Art Night.

  3. Storytime at Mormon Station

    The Douglas County Public Library presents Storytime at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa. Children of all ages are invited. Enjoy fun stories in the beautiful outdoor setting.

    Mormon Station State Historic Park is located at 2295 Main Street in Genoa. It was built in 1851 as a trading post along the Carson Route of the California Trail and is the site of Nevada’s first permanent, non-native settlement.

  4. Mug Cakes at the Zephyr Cove Library

    The Zephyr Cove Library is hosting a Mug Cake baking event. All mugs and ingredients will be provided. Several mug recipes will be featured and will include sweet and savory options. Participants of all ages are welcome; however, children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
