Mother's Day Mother/Son Dance
Little gentlemen this is your opportunity to show mom how much you appreciate her by taking her out for an evening of dancing and entertainment.
Held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 5/10 from 6:30-9 pm, Fee is $15 per couple.
Women and Investing
This workshop will teach financial goals including setting them, planning for them and most importantly, realizing them.
Meet at Edwards Jones, 8/13, 5:30-7:30 pm. Fee is $10.
Renaissance Swordsmanship
Ever wanted to fence like a 17th century musketeer? Students will learn the basics of fencing using a rapier, dagger and buckler.
Held at Carson Valley Middle School, Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, fee is $24/18 monthly.
Ballet
Follows the general principals of ballet; proper posture, graceful stance and poise.
Held at the World Gym, Wednesdays or Saturdays, fee is $48/$59 monthly plus a $15 monthly service fee.
Yoga
This ancient life science of Hatha Yoga is the path to long life.
Held at the Recreation Annex, Monday/Thursday, 9:30-11 am or 7-8:30 pm. Fee is $38 monthly.
Spencer Pilates
Great for any level, beginner to advanced. Pilates concentrates on the core (abs and lower back) toning and elongating muscles.
Held at Minden Elementary School, Tues/Thurs 3:45-5:45 pm or Recreation Annex, Wed 10-11 am. Fee is $15-$25 per session.
Tai-Chi
Learn the soft martial art, or exercise form, that originated in

Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
All classes taught in controlled professional setting designed so one can learn and train in a friendly environment with safety as number one consideration.
Held at West Coast Martial Arts, Mon, 7:30 - 8:30 pm and Fri, 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Fee is $79 per month.
Women's Self Defense Seminar
This class will work on the physical reactions to an attack and practice sharpening those skills, as well as how to weather the psychological storm afterwards.
Held at High Desert Martial Arts, 5/3 & 5/10 from 1-3 pm. Fee is $40.
Open Water Scuba Certification
This class will certify students to recreational scuba open water diving. Class includes classroom and pool time, as well as a dive at Sand harbor Beach.
Held at the Recreation Annex/Carson Valley Swim Center, various times/dates. Fee is $460 for session.
Watercolor Basics on a Budget
Learn basic watercolor techniques in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Held at Topaz Ranch Estates, Tuesdays, 6/17-7/15, 6-9 pm. Fee is $125.
Ballroom Dancing 1
Designed to offer the beginning dancer an introduction to the Fox Trot, Swing, Waltz and Latin dances.
Held at Dance Workshop, Fridays, 7-8 pm. Fee is $75/$60 per couple.
Scrap Booking All Day Crop
Enjoy an uninterrupted day of scrap booking on your own 6-foot table.
Held on various Saturdays from 9am-4pm at Gardnerville Elementary School. Fee is $10 per session.
National Scrapbook Day Crop/Celebration
You'll get 12 hours uninterrupted hours to work on your albums.
Held at Gardnerville Elementary School, Saturday 5/10 from 9 am - 9 pm. Fee is $20.
Concealed Weapon Certification
This course is approved for concealed carry weapons applicants, but can be taken by anyone to learn the safe use of handguns.
Held W/F/Sa at the Recreation Annex, various dates. Fee is $75 per session.
Practical Pistol Course
This one-day course covers immediate action response drills using active and moving targets.
Held 7/19, 8am-5 pm at the Douglas County Shooting Range. Fee is $125.
Dog Obedience
A course designed to establish good conduct and curbing bad habits in your dog.
Held on Wednesdays, various dates from 7-8 pm at the Carson Valley Middle School parking lot. Fee is $75 per dog per session.
Golf for Ladies Introduction
Ladies can learn to play golf in a fun, relaxed environment.
Held at the Carson Valley Golf Course, M/T, 4/21 and 4/22, 5:15-6 pm. Fee is $30 for session.
AARP Driver Safety Course
The purpose of the class is to help seniors continue to be safe drivers as long as possible. Call 783-6455 to enroll.
Held at the Senior Center 6/14 or 9/13, 8:30 am - 5 pm. Fee is $10 per session.

Tae Kwon Do
An effective self-defense program that includes personal development, character development and discipline.

Yoga

Philippine Stick Fighting Arnis
Arnis is simple to learn and requires no special conditioning.
