Adult Volunteer Program
The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department is committed to community citizen’s participation in maintaining and enhancement of services.
The volunteer program is designed to encourage community members to volunteer by assisting staff as team members. Volunteers can supplement present services; encourage civic pride and community involvement.

Volunteer Opportunities
Special Events
Special events are held year round in Douglas County. Assistance is needed with set-up, clean-up, and working the event.
February: Father/Daughter Dance
April: Tot Egg Hunt
May - August: Summer Concerts in the Park
June: Fishing Derby
October: Pumpkin Run
Kid’s Club
Kid’s Club is a before and after school program for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Volunteers will assist with preparing for activities, homework assistance, and interacting with participants in arts & crafts and games.

PM Kids Club - 2:45 - 6:00pm
Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp offers children a variety of activities each day including field trips, arts and crafts, games and creative centers. Volunteers will assist with preparing activities, assisting the recreation staff and interacting with the participants.

Sports
The youth & adult sports programs promote health and wellness, reduces stress, fosters teamwork, develops skills, instill sportsmanship. Volunteers are needed for coaching teams, officiating games, scorekeeping games and as gym monitors.
September - November: Youth Flag Football League
January - March: Youth Basketball League
April - May: Volleyball League
July: Wiffleball Tournament
May & August: Adult Softball Tournament
Clerical Assistance
Assist the Parks & Recreation staff with typing, filing, computer projects, flyers and other clerical duties.
Year-round: Lampe Park Office
