Current Redistricting Data

Federal law requires one person, one vote and at the conclusion of each census (taken every ten years) all 50 states and every county must re-district their representatives. The districts should be within a 10% variable of each other based on the most current census population numbers. Example: If one district if 4% below the ideal number and one district is 3% above the ideal number the total percentage spread is 7%.

Population establishes the county commissioner districts, not the number of registered voters. After the 2010 census the ideal number for each district was 9,399. The 2020 census numbers show the ideal number for each district is 9,898. The current Commissioner Districts have a population deviation of 15.8%, leaving no option but to move the district boundaries to accommodate the growth of the County.
