Douglas County Community Services is excited to announce an opportunity for a local Arts non-profit to enter into an operating agreement for exclusive rights to manage and maintain the local movie theater and the upcoming Cultural and Performing Arts Community Center.
Key Details of the Agreement:
- Exclusive Operating Rights: The selected arts non-profit will have the exclusive right to operate and maintain the local movie theater and future Cultural and Performing Arts Community Center.
- Mission-Driven Operations: The non-profit will manage the facility on behalf of Douglas County, with a clear mission set by a newly appointed Cultural Arts Advisory Board and Douglas County Community Services staff.
- Proceeds: All net proceeds generated from facility operations, programs, concessions, sales, fundraising events, grants, and donations will be directed toward the maintenance and future improvements of the facility, as well as art-focused programs benefiting Douglas County residents.
Non-Profit Responsibilities Include:
- Facility Operations: Full oversight of day-to-day operations, including scheduling events, film screenings, cultural programs, and community outreach.
- Community Engagement: Building and nurturing relationships with local artists, businesses, and the broader community to ensure a vibrant, diverse cultural offering.
- Fundraising & Grant Management: Conducting fundraising efforts, managing grants, and ensuring financial sustainability for the Center’s operations and future growth.
Immediate Commitment:
- $250,000 Minimum Investment for Facility Improvements: The non-profit must bring an immediate investment of $250,000 minimum for essential facility upgrades and provide an outline showing your non-profits ability to maintain and meet the County’s mission.
