Gardnerville, NV – The Douglas County Community Health Clinic—along with the Douglas County School District—invites parents/guardians to bring their children to the Back-To-School immunization clinic to receive all routine childhood vaccines. The event will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from noon-5 p.m. behind the Douglas County Community Center in Gardnerville (1329 Waterloo Ln, Gardnerville, NV 89410).
Students kindergarten through high school are welcome, and college students are welcome as well. The Douglas County School District requires vaccinations for students enrolling in school and entering 7th grade. As of July 1, 2022, students enrolled in the 12th grade are required to receive the meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year.
For a list of immunization requirements, visit Immunize Nevada’s School Vaccinations page. College freshmen younger than 23 who are enrolled at a Nevada college or university and living in a dormitory are required to receive the meningococcal vaccine.
Parents vaccinating a child at the clinic should bring any notifications about vaccinations received from the school, the child’s insurance card, and previous vaccination records. Parents who cannot locate immunization records should contact their health care provider. If their children were immunized in Nevada, parents can also visit Nevada WebIZ, a statewide immunization registry, at https://izrecord.nv.gov/public/Application/PublicPortal or call Nevada WebIZ at 775-684-5954.
Medicaid and most major insurances will be accepted. There is an administration fee for those uninsured; however, no one will be turned away due to the inability to pay. This clinic will be run on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to schedule an appointment on another date or time, call Douglas County Health Nurse at 775-782-9038.
