Douglas County Community and Senior Center Hosts Free "Community Meets Art" 10th Anniversary Celebration

Gardnerville, NV – The Douglas County Community and Senior Center is thrilled to announce its free 10-year anniversary celebration, "Community Meets Art," a festive and engaging event that highlights the spirit, culture, and creativity of our vibrant community.

Join us Saturday, December 14, 2024, for an unforgettable day of art, music, and family fun. This free event invites everyone to experience the heart of Douglas County through an array of engaging activities, live performances, and interactive experiences.

Event Details:

•             When: Saturday, December 14, 2024

•             Where: Douglas County Community and Senior Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, NV

•             Time: Noon – 5 p.m.

Event Highlights Include:

•             Live Entertainment: Enjoy a show-stopping performance by headliner The Cripple Creek Band, along with inspiring musical performances from many talented local artists. Live music begins at 2 p.m. with artist Miki Rae, and The Cripple Creek Band will start at 4 p.m.

•             Open House, Expo, and Art Show: Discover local talent, explore exhibits, and connect with community resources.

•             Family-Friendly Activities: Delight in carriage rides, bounce houses, and hands-on family art activities.

•             Holiday Cheer: Savor holiday treats, gather around open fire pits, and enjoy commemorative gifts.

•             Silent Auction: Bid on exclusive items and experiences to support the Douglas County Community Services Foundation (DCCSF).

•             Food & Refreshments: Indulge in offerings from local food trucks, and an outdoor bar sponsored by the DCCSF while enjoying music, dancing, and giveaways throughout the day.

“This milestone celebrates a decade of connection, creativity, and service in Douglas County,” said Douglas County Recreation Supervisor Scott Doerr. “It’s a chance to honor our achievements, showcase the incredible talent and unity of our community, and look forward to an even brighter future together.”

The event is proudly made possible through partnerships with The Carson Valley Arts Council, Core Construction, Douglas County Community Services Department, and the Douglas County Community Services Foundation.

The Douglas County Community Services Foundation will host the silent auction, with proceeds benefiting our local community centers, youth memberships, and capital improvement projects that support community initiatives.
