Douglas County Fleet Services provides maintenance and repair for county-owned and other local government-owned vehicles and equipment, staffed by several highly skilled ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified mechanics that provide the majority of vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair. Fleet Services' mission is to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet vehicles and specialized heavy equipment to other County Departments.
Fleet services manages the motor pool replacement fund by maintaining a fleet of motor pool vehicles that are purchased, maintained, and replaced in order to maximize county assets. The motor pool provides different types of vehicles to various county departments on a permanently assigned or short-term basis. This division of the Public Works Department operates as an internal service fund and charges user departments for services rendered, parts, and supplies used.
