Douglas County Social Services Hosts Community Event Focused on Heath Services and Wellbeing

Gardnerville, NV – Douglas County Social Services is hosting a public health event to connect residents with essential health services while promoting an overall wellbeing and what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle. “Elevate: Your Health. Your Future. Our Community.” takes place Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Senior Center, located at 1329 Waterloo Ln., in Gardnerville.
Designed to engage residents seeking healthy resources in the county, this family-friendly event will showcase the many local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations that work to provide healthy minds and bodies in Douglas County. In addition to representatives from local organizations, there will be free activities, a complimentary lunch, and raffle prizes for attendees.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our residents to meet several of our community agency partners that work with the county on behalf of our residents,” said Sarah Johnson, administrative services manager for Douglas County Social Services. “The organizations participating are dedicated to improving access to healthcare, mental health services, and wellness programs. Plus, we have a lot of fun activities planned in addition to the opportunities to learn more about what it takes to focus on living a healthier lifestyle.”
The event is hosted by Douglas County Social Services and funded by SB118. Douglas County Social Services is dedicated to providing essential services to support the health, wellness, and quality of life for individuals and families in our community.
