Douglas County invites the public to attend a Roads Workshop on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse in Minden. The workshop will provide residents with an opportunity to learn about the current state of the county’s roads, ongoing maintenance challenges, and possible funding considerations for the future.
The Roads Workshop is part of the County’s continuing effort to engage the community in an open, informative dialogue about infrastructure needs and priorities. Residents will have a chance to hear directly from County staff and review current data on road conditions. The public is encouraged to submit questions in advance for County staff to address during the workshop. Questions can be submitted to
[email protected].
The County maintains 241 miles of roads (paved, gravel, and grindings roads combined), and like many communities nationwide, is facing rising construction costs and aging infrastructure. The workshop will highlight:
•
An overview of current road conditions across Douglas County
•
Road maintenance costs and existing funding sources
•
The impact of inflation on materials and labor
•
Long-term planning and funding options for possible consideration
"We want to provide residents and the board with a clear picture of where we stand as relates to road maintenance and funding today, and what we’re looking at for the future," said County Manager Jenifer Davidson. "This is an opportunity for the public to submit questions in advance of the workshop, share feedback, and be part of the discussion."
The workshop is open to all members of the public. No registration is required.
